UT Summer Visit

Memorial day with Maureen and Alan

Grandma and Grandpa Green came to visit over Memorial Day Weekend. They woke up early and drove all day and made it in time for a Hawaiian Dinner and Luau with the ward.

We took them to Sunset beach.  It was pretty chilly in May, but it was still BEAUTIFUL. It was amazing how much warmer it was just 50 feet from the beach on the street.

Grandma went right to work with her crochet needles.
Everyone loved having the extra mattress out.

We enjoyed not touching anything at the Broad Museum.

And road a trolley a block down a hill in LA.

We had major meltdowns at lunch at Grand Central Market.

Went shopping at Ross and had fate bring us to trying on these shirts at the same time--totally unplanned!
Eleanor picked out this fluffy stool. Impeccable taste.
We also celebrated Alic turning 4 together with a Minnie Mouse cake and a walk in the rain.

Visit from Grandma Janet and Aunt Renae/Scarlett/Cheryl... Whatever Her Name Is

My sister and Mom came down to sunny SoCal during Renae's Spring Break.  It was a pretty last minute decision and Renae has fake-surprised me into thinking she was at my doorstep before, so I was cautiously excited.
She really came, and they did all of us a favor and flew into Long Beach Airport, which is worth the extra pennies to avoid LAX traffic and the 10 minute commute to our house.  We spent a lot of our time basking in the sun at the hot tub, eating snacks, and catching up.  It was so great.

Mother's beach in Long Beach, no waves, so great for little people to swim in; although the water/weather in May was still a little cool for us to stay in there long. The park and the beach was beautiful.
 We Love Waffle Luv

We hit up a day in Disneyland together. The young cynical adults spent most of it discussing why it was not that exciting for the price and how you spend most of your time waiting in lines, but, when in Anaheim!!!

The best part was when the kids went home to sleep and we attended with just the adult women.  A little sad, but true. We only went on three rides in four hours, but my mom is a really good sport and finds the silver lining in everything. The park was beautiful at night We walked through some stores, she bought a Disney Villains lanyard and some cool pins, and we caught a glimpse of the water show before we left.

Favorite ride I think.  Adrenaline junkies right here.

We overestimated how hot Southern Cali weather is and forgot that it gets rather cool at night (LOVE!) so we had to buy some CVS merch. Renae bought that blue long sleeve shirt and called it good.  She's has Montana body temperature now, so she didn't need much.

DISNEYLAND!!!! Waiting an insufferable amount of time for Indiana Jones, and we even had fast passes.  BUT WE HAD A CAMERA!!

I decided to tack on a few more of our Disney pictures from our prior visit down below.  We won't be back for awhile, so...thanks for the memories.

Scarlett's 6th Birthday

Scarlett loves to party and has extreme anxiety about missing out one, even in its smallest form, so we threw her a pool party and invited some friends from school. We may have not gotten a huge showing since it was the week after Spring Break for her school district, but we had a lovely time anyway.

To my dismay, we ended up having to take all the decor and food down and bring it inside our house. We found out we're not allowed to "set up anything like this" right when everyone got there. I was annoyed, but not deterred. The party went on.

Pizza and cake in our house. I was pretty proud of the funfetti raspberry filled Pokemon cake I created. It was "much to rich for children" it seemed as they didn't eat much.

We love our 6 year old. She's responsible (except when it comes to keeping track of her shoes), loving, silly, emotional when she's running on low calories or sleep, competitive, and so SO friendly.  She's deathly afraid of fire, getting lost, most adults and people having any sort of fun/entertainment without her.  She LOVES to swim, play Minecraft and other games with her Dad, swing on monkey bars (and she's amazing at it), eat meals cooked at home-her favorites are  Zupa Tuscana soup and Beef and Mushroom Stroganoff, to cuddle and be around family and friends.
