Scarlett Update

This babe is almost TWO YEARS OLD. Wow. I hope that I have documented enough because I want to remember her adorable stinkerish ways.  Thank goodness for Instagram.

SCARLETT CLAIRE GREEN:
Loves to eat. Loves to play more.  She gets easily distracted by other kids at get-togethers when it's eating time.  When she's reigned into her booster seat and all is still, she can down a good sized meal.
Favorite foods:  Tomato soup, chili with beans, noodles (pronounced noo-nools), rice, fruit (especially blackberries), cereal, cooked veggies: broccoli, peas, carrots, cauliflower, corn, green beans she loves them all-especially with salt and pepper!  Ever since she enjoyed my mom's chicken noonool soup, she has been excited to eat chicken, too.  We sort of call everything chicken, so we've snuck in pork, ground turkey, and fish into her mouth too.  She'll learn someday, I'm just glad she's finally eating some meat. PS-she'll eat anything if you slather it with Ketchup.

Not so favorite foods:  Bread (she'll take a small nibble occasionally, although she does get excited for sacrament), Shrimp, she shuddered when she tried it, poor girl.  Lettuce or anything leafy, Mashed Potatoes, tuna fish, oatmeal, or anything with a mysterious slimy texture.

Favorite snacks and treats;  POPCORN from day one, we make it almost every night,  Chocolate and Circles (Dad likes to buy her M&Ms when we're at the mall), Pretzels, chips, crackers and anything salty. Apple juice (which is what we call all juice), and anything minty--  she LOVED candy canes around Christmastime.

Quirks: Loves to scream and laugh wildly at the grocery store and then tells herself to "Relax".  Is obsessed with 'Ni-Night"-she loves to pretend to sleep under a blanket and loves all beds.  Crazy about eggs- plastic eggs, boiled eggs, candy eggs, play-dough eggs...I blame it on the weird YouTube channel she likes to watch where they have letters and words and prizes hidden inside plastic eggs.  When they spell a word, they get to open the egg with a special prize, so she now loves to say "SURPRISE".  Loves her stuffed Winnie the Pooh bear that is her own size, they like to eat together and cuddle and sing "Sunbeep"  (Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam).  She asks to sing Sun-beep every night before bed.  Loves music and dancing, and often gets sad when a good one ends on the radio, "Happened, song?!"   Obsessed with birthdays, she'll see anything on fire or anything shaped like a party hat and say "Hap Birthday, mom?" Awesome at counting and recognizing colors, numbers and letters; she starting doing this during our Utah trip.  She's so smart! She loves the FedEx trucks with the big colorful letters to read, and when they pull away she'll demand, "Happened, Letters?!"  Loves sunglasses, but has to touch and fuss with them until they break. Oh, and dad taught her how to cross her eyes, she thinks its hilarious.

Favorite sayings: "Hold On Minute."
Makes a list of things she wants but thinks she can't have.  "Ipad? NO!  Umizoomi? NO!  Pooh-bear? NO! Outside? NO!"
When she plays with her blocks she says, "No, here.  No, here." Then places it in the spot that satisfies her.
"Scarlett, funny!"  then she forces a cackle.
"Oh no!" cries and says, "BANDEE"  (Band-aid). She does this about once a day about any ow-ees she notices on her body, usually fingers and knees.
"Loudee, mommy!"  when she wants me to crank up the music.
Randomly sings these songs:  Wheels on the Bus,  Sunbeam,  Once there was a Snowman, ABCs, Twinkle, Twinkle Little star, Ring around the Rosie,  I'm so glad when Daddy comes home "(and give him, WHAT? MUAH!)
"I strrooooong!!"  as she pushes against a wall, or her high-chair or picks up a gallon of milk out of the fridge.
"Focus, focus, focus..." usually when she's helping dad make popcorn.
"Thanks" "Mmhmm" and "Yeah."
"Ta-da!"
"Later soon!"

Scarlett is still a total dare devil and likes to show off and scare moms at the playground. She loves to make us laugh, and she loves to cuddle after bathtime.  We love our sweet girl and are hoping she takes the newcomer in her life with smiles and grace.  I foresee her being a tad jealous, but I'm so excited for her to have a sister to play with when they're older.
